Licensing & Content

How ShowPlayer interacts with your show licenses and materials.

What you get from the licensor

ShowPlayer works with shows and materials that you license directly from the rights holder (such as a publisher or licensing company). Your licensor provides:

  • Performance rights for the show.
  • Underlying show materials such as scripts, scores, and audio.
  • Terms and conditions governing how those materials may be used.

Those rights and materials remain subject to the licensor’s own agreements. ShowPlayer does not sell performance rights and does not change your licensing terms.

What ShowPlayer adds

ShowPlayer does not replace your licensed materials. Instead, it provides tools designed to help you use those materials more effectively in rehearsals and performances. Using content you are already licensed to use, the App can:

  • Organize and play back show audio in a production-friendly timeline.
  • Help cast and crew rehearse and practice their cues and sections.
  • Coordinate automation, such as mic-mute or other show cues.

In other words, the content and rights come from your licensor; ShowPlayer provides the tools that help you use that content more confidently on stage.

Access tied to your license

Many shows and materials delivered through the App are protected by copyright and require a valid, active licensing agreement with the licensor of the underlying show (such as a publisher or rights holder). Access to show materials within the App may be limited to the duration of the applicable license period and is contingent upon maintaining a valid license.

The App itself does not grant performance, rehearsal, duplication, distribution, or archival rights. Those rights are governed solely by your licensing agreement with the rights holder.

This page is a general explanation and does not replace or modify your license agreement with the rights holder. Always refer to your licensing contract for the terms that apply to your production.
